Small Swaps, Big Impact
History
Swap & Support was founded by Breanne Wolfenbarger in Tampa, Florida 2023. It began it's expansion to Alabama, July 2024, and Breanne has plans to continue the expansion of the organization during her travels. "I want people to feel good about themselves. It's important to me that everyone smiles when they see themselves in the mirror. Clothing is a necessity and there is plenty to go around without fast fashion filling the landfills."

More Than a Swap
Since our founding, Swap & Support has donated more than 3,000 items and helped keep over 6,000 items out of landfills. Unclaimed items from our events have supported nearly 10 charitable organizations across the Southeastern United States, allowing each swap to continue making an impact long after the event ends.
Because our items are collected for a shopping-style swap event, participants are encouraged to bring pieces that are in great condition and that someone else would be excited to find. This often means the clothing and other goods collected are higher-quality, gently used items that still have plenty of life left in them. After our guests have had the opportunity to shop the swap for free, remaining items are donated to local organizations—giving those pieces yet another opportunity to reach someone who needs them.
And we’re about much more than clothes! Our swaps can include books, household goods, plants, toys, and other useful items, with new types of swaps planned as we continue to grow.
Why It Matters
Millions of tons of textiles are discarded in the United States each year, while fast fashion has made it easier than ever for clothing to be produced, purchased, and thrown away quickly. Swapping gives perfectly usable items a second life, reduces unnecessary waste, and helps us make better use of what our communities already have.
Community Comes First
We know finances can be tough, which is why our swaps are completely free. There are no admission fees and no requirement to purchase anything. We want people to be able to find something they need or love without worrying about the cost.
Our events are also an opportunity to bring attention to local charities, small businesses, and community organizations. By partnering with and highlighting the people already doing great work in our communities, we hope every event creates an impact that reaches far beyond the swap itself.
Most importantly, Swap & Support gives people a reason to come together. You can meet your neighbors, make new friends, share what you have, and quite literally help your own community—all while helping the environment.
